History

The Galante Engineering Business Program was initiated in 2007. Thanks to a generous gift from Ed Galante, a Northeastern Civil Engineering alumnus, former Senior Vice President of Exxon Mobil Corporation and a member of the University Board of Trustees. The Galante Program’s mission is to provide engineering students with critical leadership and entrepreneurial skills that they can apply across a variety of career options. Galante Fellows, as the students are known, pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering combined with a Master of Science in one of several degree options. The coursework completed leads to a Certificate in Engineering Business, and also makes them eligible to receive advanced standing in an MBA program at Northeastern. The co-curricular Galante Program offerings include professional development opportunities via workshops, seminars, and outings, combined with individualized professional development plans to complement their coursework. Through these elements, Fellows graduate with a more fully developed business sense and skills necessary to pursue industry leadership positions.
